Job Description

Forward Air is a prominent and asset-light transportation services provider operating across the United States, Canada, and Latin America. With a robust network of terminals, Forward Air specializes in expedited less-than-truckload (LTL) services, offering local pick-up and delivery, shipment consolidation and deconsolidation, warehousing, and customs brokerage. The company also extends its expertise to truckload brokerage, dedicated fleet services, intermodal operations, first and last-mile delivery, and high-value drayage services to and from seaports and railheads. Moreover, Forward Air manages dedicated contract and Container Freight Station (CFS) warehouse and handling services, ensuring comprehensive support for shipping and logistics requirements. Through its subsidiary Omni Logistics, Forward Air operates a full suite of multimodal solutions domestically and internationally, providing air, ocean, and ground transportation services for mission-critical freight.

Forward Air is more than just a transportation company — it is a single resource for diverse shipping needs, powered by dedicated individuals who maintain the flow of goods and bring logistics to life. Whether working in warehouses, on the road, or behind computer screens, every team member plays a crucial role in keeping the global business moving efficiently and reliably.

The company’s ongoing commitment to excellence and innovation positions it as an industry leader with a strong dedication to customer service and operational integrity. Forward Air’s reputation is built on its ability to provide reliable, flexible, and high-quality transportation solutions tailored to meet the evolving demands of its clients across multiple sectors.

The role of Customer Relations Coordinator at Forward Air is essential for maintaining strong customer relationships and ensuring operational excellence in the coordination of import and export shipments. This position requires a competent and dedicated individual who is thorough in managing clerical duties related to international transportation. The Customer Relations Coordinator will be responsible for responding promptly and effectively to customer inquiries received via email or voicemail, handling order statuses, issue resolution, shipment tracking, routing questions, and other customer requests with professionalism and accuracy.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational skills, time management expertise, and the ability to meet strict deadlines. Managing international paperwork and handling sensitive documentation such as IT (Information Technology) submissions to U.S. Customs are critical components of this role. Familiarity with ocean imports and exports is a valued asset, along with strong data entry skills to maintain accurate shipment tracking records.

This role involves working closely with various internal departments to ensure smooth communication and progress updates related to shipment status and operational processes. The Customer Relations Coordinator must maintain meticulous files and documentation as outlined in the company’s operational procedures and policy manuals. The position also demands consistent monitoring of incoming email requests to provide timely responses and detailed information to customers, ensuring a high level of service satisfaction.

Additionally, the role includes regular attendance and reliability, with the flexibility to undertake other duties as assigned to support the overall goals of the department and the company. Candidates with a can-do attitude, strong verbal and written communication skills, and familiarity with Microsoft Office products will find themselves well-equipped for success in this fast-paced environment.
