The role of Supervisor Logistics at Ryder plays a pivotal part in ensuring smooth operational flow and efficient logistics processes. Reporting to the Logistics Manager, this position entails supervising, coordinating, and overseeing day-to-day logistics activities while providing development, coaching, and training to staff members. The Supervisor Logistics is responsible for driving operational improvements to facilities, equipment, processes, and systems to meet and exceed company standards and customer expectations. Accountable for key performance indicators (KPIs), this role directly impacts the achievement of business objectives by ensuring ongoing progress and operational excellence.
As a Supervisor Logistics, you will be the professional representative of Ryder, embodying the company’s core values and leveraging technology daily to streamline processes and enhance productivity. The position demands an individual with leadership skills who can inspire and motivate teams while ensuring labor relations remain positive through understanding labor agreements and enforcing corrective actions when necessary. Job Requirements
- H.S. diploma/GED required
- One year or more experience in transportation, warehouse or distribution environment preferred
- 0 to one year direct supervisory/leadership experience required
- Ability to use technology effectively as part of daily routine
- Ability to commit to core values of trust, innovation, expertise, collaboration and safety
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment
- Capability to create and maintain professional relationships at all organizational levels
- Flexibility and self-drive to excel in dynamic situations
- Understanding of labor agreements and maintaining positive labor relations
Job Qualifications
- H.S. diploma/GED required
- One year or more experience in transportation, warehouse or distribution environment preferred

Job Duties
- Supervise, coordinate and oversee day to day logistics operations
- Plan and review, in collaboration with the Logistics Manager, all logistics processes ensuring that they meet company standards and customer service specifications
- Establish work schedules and procedures and coordinate activities of the workers to ensure optimal shift/team logistics
- Accountable for site Key Performance Indication (KPI)
- Work in collaboration with customers in all aspects of operations
- Meet regularly with team members collectively and individually to monitor progress, track performance, coach, counsel, and recognize successes
- Cultivate team spirit with a Diversity and Inclusion initiative and promote cooperation by seeking opportunities to improve internal processes
- Carry out performance evaluations of team members and recommend performance awards or merit increases when appropriate
- Address performance problems through corrective action and disciplinary processes
- Understand labor agreement and maintain positive labor relations
- Responsible for implementation of health, safety and security initiatives, practices and behaviors and adherence to company rules and policies
- Provide appropriate orientation for employees and Lead Hands and equip them with necessary information, technology, and materials
