As a company committed to feeding the future, Nutrien integrates a strong culture of care and adherence to core values such as safety, inclusion, integrity, and results throughout its operations. Nutrien Ag Solutions, the retail division of Nutrien, operates a vast network of over 2,000 locations across North America, South America, and Australia, delivering full-acre solutions to growers through trusted crop consultants. This division plays a pivotal role in helping growers maximize yields while promoting sustainability by offering a wide range of proprietary products, including Loveland Products, Proven Seed, and Dyna-Gro Seed, alongside financial, custom application, and precision agriculture services. Supported by nearly 26,000 dedicated employees, Nutrien efficiently manages a world-class network of production, distribution, and retail facilities to serve the agricultural community effectively.
The Custom Applicator role based in Chalmers, Indiana, is an entry-level, full-time position offering a unique opportunity to be directly involved in agricultural production and crop protection. This on-site job involves operating and maintaining spray equipment to apply crop protection and plant nutritional products, ensuring that crops receive optimal care for peak growth and yield. Responsibilities include mixing, calibrating, loading, and applying these products, along with vehicle inspections and equipment maintenance to guarantee safety and performance. The position also involves handling the delivery and management of various agricultural inputs such as bulk materials, packaged products, and seeds. A key part of this role is maintaining precise records of all applications to comply with regulations and company policies. The Custom Applicator may also assist mechanics in equipment repairs and carry out other assigned tasks to support smooth operations.
This role is ideal for individuals with a high school diploma or GED who possess an agricultural background or interest, hold a valid driver's license with applicable endorsements, and either have a current CDL or are willing to obtain one with provided training. Nutrien emphasizes work-life balance by offering local work that allows employees to be home every night, with stable full-time hours and the potential for overtime during peak seasons. The company is dedicated to maintaining the highest safety standards and provides comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision coverage, retirement plans with employer matching, paid time off, and access to employee assistance programs. This role offers a fulfilling career in agriculture, combining hands-on technical work with a purpose-driven mission to impact food security locally and globally. Nutrien is committed to creating an inclusive and supportive work environment and is an equal opportunity employer. The recruitment process is thorough to ensure the best fit for both candidate and company, including background and substance testing as part of pre-employment conditions.
