This role offers full-time employment at a competitive pay rate of $21.00 per hour, with a 40-hour workweek. Shifts vary and require flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays to ensure that the highest cleanliness and maintenance standards are upheld at all times.

The Custodian/Janitorial position at the USS Midway Museum is a vital role focused on maintaining the cleanliness and overall appearance of the museum’s facilities. Employees in this role will be responsible for cleaning and sanitizing restrooms, furniture, floors, and other surfaces using a variety of cleaning agents and equipment. This role requires proficiency in using power and hand cleaning tools such as buffers, vacuums, brooms, and mops, as well as the ability to perform physical tasks that include climbing stairs and ladders, bending, stooping, lifting up to 40 pounds, and standing for extended periods.

In addition to cleaning duties, custodians must follow safety guidelines and procedures, carefully managing cleaning supplies and equipment to maintain an efficient workflow. The position demands a strong focus on teamwork, customer service, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, often assisting other staff to support museum operations.
