The school is currently seeking a dedicated Campus Operations professional specializing in custodial services to join their team. This key role is integral to maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming school environment that enhances the learning and working conditions for all. The custodial position supports campus facilities by performing daily janitorial and light maintenance tasks, ensuring that school buildings, classrooms, restrooms, dining areas, and common spaces meet high standards of cleanliness and safety. The role also involves assisting with event setups and working alongside contractors for seasonal or special maintenance projects.

This full-time role requires a commitment to upholding the values of the institution through diligent work and attention to detail. Besides routine cleaning, the custodial staff is responsible for handling emergency cleanups, reporting safety or repair issues timely to administration, and ensuring that custodial supplies and equipment are properly managed. The ideal candidate will have experience with janitorial machinery, the ability to use modern technology such as smart devices for communication, and the physical capacity to meet the demands of the role, including lifting, bending, and exposure to various environmental conditions.

Job Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent
Minimum 2 years experience in janitorial service industry or building maintenance
Ability to receive and understand verbal and written instructions in English
Ability to learn and use computer software and basic office equipment
Physical ability to frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds
Ability to perform extensive walking, reaching, balancing, stooping, kneeling, twisting, bending, climbing and crawling
Ability to work in various environmental conditions including exposure to fumes, extreme temperatures, loud equipment and airborne particles
Ability to use standard custodial machinery and communicate via smart devices
Ability to respond to emergency situations promptly

Job Qualifications

High school diploma or GED equivalent OR minimum 2 years' experience in the janitorial service industry OR 2 years' experience in building maintenance
Experience working with janitorial machinery (floor scrubbers, floor buffers, restroom cleaning machines) preferred but not required
Ability to receive and understand verbal and written instructions in English
Ability to use computer software to view work orders and basic office equipment
Ability to learn and operate burglar alarms and smart phone communication tools
Ability to use standard custodial equipment computerized displays and controls
Ability to use a computer to complete video or teleconference training

Job Duties

Maintains campus buildings, facilities, grounds, and equipment by performing regular janitorial and maintenance tasks
Performs routine custodial and maintenance tasks
Perform cafeteria breakfast and lunch dining area cleaning and setup
Perform cleaning on restrooms, hallways, classrooms and other common areas
Perform litter removal and routine cleaning of the exterior of assigned building(s) and property
Perform light-duty repairs and maintenance such as painting or changing light bulbs
Cleaning bodily fluids and disinfecting surfaces
Perform setup for campus events
Performs and/or oversees contractors who perform non-routine maintenance tasks and summer refresh tasks
Pressure washing and other cleaning of the building exterior
Re-painting walls in classrooms and walls inside the building
Moving furniture in preparation for stripping and waxing operations
Assisting in stripping and waxing operations
Notifies school administration of any needed major repairs or equipment failure
Remains vigilant on safety and security issues and notifies school administration of any safety or security issues that arise
Maintains organization and cleanliness of storage, supply and maintenance areas
maintains a record of inventory and orders supplies as needed and requests re-supply
Responds to emergency situations in order to confine, resolve or prevent injurious or otherwise hazardous conditions
Report emergencies to the Operations Director
Additional duties as assigned
