Custodian-Trash Technician

We are seeking dedicated General Cleaners, Warehouse, and Trash Technicians to join our dynamic logistics facility located in Memphis, Tennessee. This position is vital to maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall operational efficiency of a fast-paced logistics environment that handles high volumes of goods and materials every day. Our facility focuses on creating a safe and organized workplace where thorough cleaning and proper waste management support daily operations and ensure a hygienic environment for all employees and visitors.

This opportunity is ideal for individuals who take pride in a physically engaging and hands-on role within an essential service industry. Starting immediately, this role offers an hourly wage of $15.50 and requires the use of composite toe shoes or boots to ensure workplace safety. Employees work five 8-hour shifts per week, with various shift options to accommodate different schedules. Shifts available include early mornings starting at 7 a.m., mid-morning to early evening shifts starting at 10 a.m., afternoon to late evening shifts starting at 3 p.m., and night shifts from 11 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. This rotational schedule supports continuous operation and requires flexibility from team members.

The primary responsibilities of this role include a wide range of janitorial and custodial duties crucial to upholding the facility’s high standards. General cleaning encompasses restrooms, break rooms, conference rooms, and other common areas. The job is physically demanding and involves extensive walking—sometimes covering miles per shift—along with the emptying of heavy trash bins and maintaining outdoor areas such as the yard, guard shack, and smoking areas. Weather conditions may require the use of appropriate outerwear for outdoor tasks.

Beyond janitorial services, this position also incorporates warehouse support functions, including the removal and baling of cardboard, moving and stacking pallets, and operating forklifts as needed. Floor cleaning and maintenance is another important aspect, ensuring safe and clean surfaces throughout the facility. Candidates should expect to engage in frequent physical activities like lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling objects weighing more than 50 pounds. Due to the physical risks and potential exposure to hazardous chemicals inherent in the role, adherence to safety procedures and precautions is mandatory.

The ideal candidates will bring prior experience in janitorial, custodial, housekeeping, or similar roles. You must have reliable transportation for commuting to the facility and the physical capability to manage demanding activities safely and efficiently.
