This role is for a Building Services Worker located at BWI Airport, offering an hourly wage of $19.76. The position requires working the night shift from 10:00 pm to 6:00 am, including mandatory weekend work. The primary responsibility of this role is to perform a wide variety of cleaning and building maintenance services in both public and workplace environments, including executive and command areas. This includes tasks such as cleaning and disinfecting restrooms, polishing furniture, vacuuming carpets, maintaining kitchenettes, fitness centers, and child care centers. The worker is also expected to uphold strict compliance with all agency policies, contract specifications, and security regulations at the airport.

The Building Services Worker plays a critical role in ensuring the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of the facility. Duties range from routine cleaning like mopping floors and dusting surfaces to more specialized tasks such as stripping and waxing floors, carpet shampooing, and snow and ice removal outside the building. The role demands physical stamina, as it involves standing or walking for extended periods, carrying and lifting heavy items up to 50 pounds, and working in various environments, including dusty or adverse weather conditions.

Success in this position requires the ability to work independently with minimal supervision, follow instructions carefully, and maintain a focus on delivering high-quality cleaning services even with numerous interruptions. Candidates must comply with all safety procedures, handle equipment and cleaning supplies properly, and demonstrate a positive, respectful attitude in all interactions. Attendance and punctuality are also essential, along with the flexibility to work different shifts, holidays, and weekends as needed.

Chimes values candidates who have at least six months of custodial experience and custodial training, although such training is desired but not mandatory.
