We are currently seeking a hardworking and detail-oriented Custodian to join our facilities team at Andrews Air Force Base. This is a full-time position with a set pay rate of $18.24 USD per hour, working Monday to Friday from 4:00 pm to 12:30 am. The custodial role is vital in maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in public spaces and work areas, directly impacting the comfort and safety of personnel and visitors. Under the general supervision of the Project Manager and the immediate guidance of the on-site supervisor, this position requires an individual who takes pride in their work and exhibits strong attention to detail. The Contracts Administrator provides secondary supervision, ensuring that the custodial tasks align with contract specifications and high standards.

The Custodian will perform a broad range of cleaning and maintenance duties, including cleaning walls, window blinds, floors, and all washable surfaces in public areas. A key responsibility is to ensure that restrooms are cleaned, disinfected, and properly stocked with necessary supplies such as paper products and soap. Handling trash removal and managing building exteriors, including garages and sidewalks where snow and ice must be cleared, are integral to this role. The position also requires proficiency in using cleaning equipment and materials correctly, as well as a commitment to safety standards and environmental requirements relevant to custodial tasks.

Additionally, the Custodian must be capable of moving and arranging heavy items and assisting with special events by setting up or taking down furniture. This role demands physical stamina and the ability to notice and report changes or discrepancies in space conditions. The ability to identify collections materials uniquely used in this environment adds to the specialist nature of the job.
