Job Description

The Cincinnati Arts Association (CAA) is a premier arts organization located in the heart of downtown Cincinnati at the Aronoff Center for the Arts. Established with the mission to ignite creativity and foster a vibrant cultural community, CAA serves as a vital hub for diverse performing arts events, exhibitions, and community engagement activities. As a well-respected organization in the region, the Cincinnati Arts Association dedicates itself to presenting outstanding artistic experiences while ensuring that its facilities remain safe, welcoming, and accessible for patrons, artists, and staff members alike. The Aronoff Center for the Arts is a state-of-the-art venue that plays host to a wide variety of events including theater productions, concerts, dance performances, and educational programs, making it a cornerstone of Cincinnati’s cultural life.

CAA is currently seeking a full-time, 2nd shift Custodian to join their dedicated Custodial Department at the Aronoff Center. This role is essential in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall environment of the facility. The Custodian will be responsible for ensuring that the theaters, lobbies, offices, restrooms, backstage areas, and other operational spaces are consistently clean and well-stocked. Working primarily during the second shift hours from 12 pm to 12 am, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to the efficient operation of this busy cultural venue and interact with patrons, guests, and staff in a professional manner.

The Custodian will work under the supervision of the Custodial Services Manager and will be expected to perform a range of custodial duties including cleaning, sanitizing, restocking supplies, executing event set-ups and breakdowns, and assisting with limited grounds maintenance such as snow and leaf removal and exterior window washing. This role demands a hands-on approach and a high level of attention to detail to maintain the standards expected by CAA. Ideal candidates are those with at least two years of custodial experience, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to excellent service. The position also requires physical stamina, the ability to work independently or within a team setting, and the capability to handle tasks that involve lifting up to 50 pounds and working in varying environmental conditions.

This full-time position offers a comprehensive range of benefits including health and dental insurance, a 403(b) retirement plan, employee assistance programs, flexible spending and health savings accounts, paid time off, life and vision insurance, and employee discounts. CAA is committed to fostering an inclusive and equitable workplace, encouraging individuals with diverse backgrounds and experiences, including those with a criminal record, to apply. Working at CAA offers an opportunity to be part of a dynamic arts organization that values creativity, community engagement, and professional development.
