The available position at Roger Williams University is a full-time Facilities Management Union role focused on custodial services. This role is vital in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and functionality of the university's buildings and facilities across its campuses. Custodial staff are responsible for routine cleaning, minor maintenance, and ensuring that campus environments remain welcoming and conducive to academic and community activities. Individuals in this position perform a broad range of tasks, including cleaning restrooms and communal areas, floor upkeep like mopping, sweeping, scrubbing, and varnishing floors, dusting and waxing furniture and fixtures, washing windows and glass surfaces, as well as seasonal duties such as snow shoveling and debris removal around buildings. This role also includes operating cleaning machinery and handling cleaning materials safely and efficiently.

In addition to custodial duties, the position involves basic maintenance activities such as locking and unlocking doors, moving furniture and supplies, and painting as directed. Promptly reporting any repair needs to maintenance ensures a well-maintained campus infrastructure. The university provides mandatory safety training for all custodial team members, underscoring its commitment to a safe work environment.
