This job opportunity is for the position of Custodian on the 3rd shift within the Facilities Management department, located at the Bristol campus. The custodian will be responsible for performing a wide range of custodial duties aimed at maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and general upkeep of university buildings and grounds. This is a full-time, union position requiring 40 hours per week, offering a competitive salary and an excellent benefits package. Included with employment is a $500 signing bonus awarded after the successful completion of a four-month probationary period. The role involves general custodial duties such as cleaning and servicing restrooms, mopping, sweeping, scrubbing floors, vacuuming, dusting, waxing furniture and fixtures, and washing windows and glass surfaces. The custodian is also tasked with outdoor maintenance responsibilities including debris collection and the removal of snow from sidewalks and building entrances to ensure safety. Additionally, the position requires securing university buildings by locking and unlocking doors and assisting with moving furniture and equipment when directed. Minor painting and timely reporting of any necessary repairs are also part of the custodial duties.
