This is a resource position with a variable schedule, providing vital custodial and housekeeping services throughout the organization’s facilities. The pay range for this role is between $16.50 and $24.76 per hour. The primary responsibility of the Custodian is to maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of patient care areas, public zones, and administrative spaces to ensure a healthy and attractive environment for patients, visitors, and staff alike. This position involves performing general cleaning duties, including sanitizing rooms prior to patient admission, disinfecting surfaces to control infection, and operating cleaning equipment. The custodian will handle a variety of cleaning tasks such as dust mopping, wet mopping, vacuuming, and cleaning of furniture, floors, restrooms, and clinical areas. Additional responsibilities include waste removal, biowaste container management, recycling, and assisting with light outdoor cleaning. \n\nThe custodian is also tasked with inventory management of cleaning supplies, quality assurance activities, and occasional setup of conference rooms or delivery of supplies. Candidates must possess strong judgment, initiative, and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. This role requires good communication skills in English and familiarity with infection control practices including use of personal protective equipment. Preferred experience includes work in commercial cleaning environments such as hospitals, clinics, or hotels. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent

Job Duties
- Sanitize and disinfect patient care areas and prepare individual rooms for new patients
- Clean both the public and clinical areas using manual cleaning and disinfecting techniques
- Operate all manual and power cleaning equipment
- Clean entrances, floors, walls, doors, furniture, phones, equipment, lights, fans, ledges, cabinets, counter tops, windows, blinds, sills, showers, and toilets
- Dust mop, wet mop, vacuum, and clean family kitchen, clinical kitchen, administrative areas, and break room
- Assist with light outdoor cleaning and sweeping of patient room patio areas
- Remove trash and soiled linens from patient care areas
- Package and transport containers to biohazard waste staging area, including sharps container maintenance
- Perform recycling duties
- Complete assigned project-based cleaning tasks
- Set up conference rooms as requested
- Deliver boxes of supplies to respective departments
- Assure proper inventory of cleaning supplies is in stock and communicate items needed in advance
- Assist with quality assurance and control activities as assigned
- Problem-solve, prioritize tasks, use good judgment, and demonstrate initiative
- Record completion of tasks using record keeping skills and computer application experience
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Perform light mechanics and replacement of vacuum cleaner bags
