This position, custodial worker leader within the Directorate of RM Housekeeping, involves leading and performing diverse custodial duties in a hospital environment. Candidates in this role are expected to independently manage a full range of cleaning tasks within assigned buildings or areas, ensuring that all spaces meet the strict cleanliness and sanitation standards required in healthcare facilities. This leadership role sets the pace for custodial staff productivity and enforces safety and departmental regulations to maintain a safe and orderly workplace. The role demands strong physical ability to operate powered cleaning equipment and conduct equipment maintenance, as well as the physical strength to handle heavy lifting, sometimes up to or exceeding 50 pounds. Additionally, custodial duties include cleaning, disinfecting, and deodorizing lavatories, urinals, and toilet bowls, which requires attention to detail and adherence to health protocols.

This is a full-time, permanent position under a Direct Hire Authority recruitment with a competitive salary range from $20.52 to $23.94 per hour, classified under the WL 2 pay scale and grade. The role requires shift work, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and special situations, to ensure continuous uptime of essential hospital facilities. Applicants should be U.S. citizens, nationals, or individuals who owe allegiance to the United States and must be able to obtain and maintain eligibility for a Secret security clearance. The position does not offer telework or relocation expenses reimbursement and does not include a promotion potential beyond the initial grade.
