Job Requirements
- pass a background screening
- possess basic knowledge of cleaning equipment and materials
- demonstrate ability to perform custodial duties
- willingness to work various shifts including nights and weekends
- ability to work independently and as part of a team
- commitment to a respectful and positive work environment
- submit a letter of interest and detailed resume
- provide documentation for veteran status if applicable
Job Qualifications
- graduation from high school or equivalent education
- one year of custodial or janitorial experience in a commercial, industrial, hospital, governmental, or similar environment
- or six months as a Custodial Worker I in Nevada State service
- equivalent combination of education and experience
Job Duties
- perform general cleaning of State facilities using various cleaning equipment and materials
- maintain the Student Recreation and Wellness Center and its multiple components including Health Center, Einstein Bagels, and recreational areas
- remove trash
- sweep and mop floors
- strip and wax floors
- buff floors
- vacuum and shampoo carpets
- maintain restrooms
- wash windows
- clean offices daily
- upkeep storage rooms
- repair miscellaneous equipment
- move and polish furniture
- operate cleaning machinery such as low speed buffer, carpet extractor, walk-behind and ride-on auto scrubbers
- lock and open the facility
- perform various other duties as assigned
