Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior custodial or housekeeping experience preferred
  • Ability to lift and carry objects up to 45 lbs independently and over 45 lbs with assistance
  • Ability to safely operate industrial cleaning equipment
  • Willingness to work indoors under conditions involving exposure to strong odors and cleaning chemicals
  • Ability to stand, bend, stoop, reach and climb ladders regularly
  • Authorization to work in the United States
  • Ability to pass a National Agency Check and Inquiries (NACI) background check
  • Willingness to adhere to established safety regulations and organizational policies
  • Must submit required documentation such as education/certification certificates if applicable
  • Ability to commit to direct deposit of total NET pay
  • Must be able to provide reasonable accommodation documentation if needed

Job Qualifications

  • Knowledge of proper uses of a variety of special cleaning and sanitizing solutions
  • Ability to remove different kinds of stains from a wide variety of surfaces
  • Ability to safely operate floor and carpet cleaning machinery and equipment
  • Ability to read and understand directions on labels and printed instructions
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks such as standing, bending, stooping, reaching, lifting, and climbing ladders
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with general supervision
  • Knowledge of safety protocols related to cleaning

Job Duties

  • Cleans lodging corridors, public areas and back of house areas
  • Works closely with laundry attendants and housekeeping teams to support efficient, safe and effective housekeeping operations
  • Removes soiled linen and terry from vacant guest rooms and suites
  • Transports soiled and clean linens and terry to and from laundry and housekeeping closets
  • Dry mops and wet mops floors
  • Uses wet floor signage and observes other safety protocols when cleaning
  • Thoroughly cleans public areas and back of house areas including dusting, furniture, sweeping floors, vacuuming rugs, emptying wastebaskets, cleaning and sanitizing public and employee bathrooms including walls, partitions, commodes and sinks
  • Washes ceiling fixtures, windows and dusts drapes and blinds using a ladder
  • Removes scuffs and marks from walls
  • Arranges furniture neatly as directed
  • Empties vacuum cleaners
  • Maintains a clean and organized housekeeping cart
  • Controls issued master keys and maintains guest security and privacy
  • Assists with mattress rotation and deep cleaning projects
  • Initiates work requests to maintenance team
  • Delivers items to guests as directed
  • Strips, waxes and polishes tile flooring periodically
  • Reports missing or broken articles to supervisor
  • Moves furniture to clean underneath as needed
  • Collects lost items in vacant guest rooms and turns them into facility lost and found
  • Maintains awareness of cleanliness throughout the facility
  • Provides world class customer service with emphasis on courtesy
  • Assists customers and communicates positively
  • Takes action to solve problems quickly
  • Alerts supervisors or proper contacts when problems arise
  • Adheres to safety regulations and standards
  • Reports workplace hazards, injuries, occupational illnesses and property damage
  • Supports principles of EEO and sexual harassment prevention
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
