Job Description
The Nutrition Group is a well-established full-service food and facilities management company, founded in 1975. With decades of experience in managing a broad spectrum of services, the company has grown to operate in multiple states, including Florida, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan, South Carolina, and Virginia. The Nutrition Group's diverse offerings encompass K-12 meal services, commissary operations, custodial and maintenance management, business and industry partnerships, and consulting services. Renowned for its commitment to quality and customer satisfaction, the company builds enduring relationships with its clients, employees, and vendors, emphasizing a people-oriented approach in every aspect of its business.
Facilities Management Systems (FMS) is a specialized division within The Nutrition Group, focusing exclusively on custodial and maintenance management since 1986. This subsidiary plays a pivotal role in servicing educational institutions, particularly in managing custodial operations within K-12 school districts. The company is recognized for its systematic approach to facility cleanliness and maintenance, along with safety awareness and staff management.
Currently, Facilities Management Systems has an exciting opportunity for a Custodial Supervisor role at a local K-12 School District. This position is vital in maintaining the cleanliness and functionality of school facilities while supervising the custodial team to ensure a healthy and safe environment for students, staff, and visitors. The Custodial Supervisor will oversee daily cleaning operations covering hallways, classrooms, cafeterias, offices, gyms, and restrooms. In addition to custodial duties, the role involves leadership responsibilities, including training and managing custodial staff, monitoring supplies and equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety and chemical handling protocols.
This role is integral in fostering communication between custodial staff and school administration, ensuring that facility concerns are addressed promptly and effectively. The Custodial Supervisor will also coordinate seasonal tasks such as snow removal and ice melting to maintain safe access to school properties. Furthermore, the role demands regular inspections of school buildings to identify repair needs, recommend cleaning schedules, and coordinate maintenance projects during the summer.
The position includes administrative duties, such as preparing weekly progress reports, monthly board reports, and conducting building inspections in alignment with Facilities Management Systems guidelines. The Custodial Supervisor serves a critical function in staff management, including interviewing, hiring, training, evaluating, and disciplining custodial personnel. Efficient payroll management and oversight of overtime costs are also key facets of the role, requiring excellent organizational and communication skills.
This opportunity is well-suited for a proactive leader with a solid understanding of custodial operations, safety standards, and personnel management. The Nutrition Group and Facilities Management Systems promote an inclusive work environment that values diversity and equal opportunity, welcoming applicants from all backgrounds. This is an excellent chance for individuals passionate about facility management and dedicated to fostering safe, clean, and welcoming educational environments through effective team leadership and operational excellence.
