The Custodial Supervisor position at Aramark is a critical role responsible for ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and safety within the facilities they oversee. This role involves assisting management in maintaining and enhancing cleanliness quality through consistent inspections, employee training, and accountability measures including coaching and counseling. A Custodial Supervisor is expected to foster positive relationships among employees and customers, boost employee morale, and contribute to the continuous development of frontline associates. This position offers an hourly compensation of $20.00 and is ideal for candidates who are skilled in team leadership and have a strong attention to detail.

The Custodial Supervisor conducts frequent inspections for quality and safety, ensuring that any corrective actions are promptly implemented. Understanding employee assignments and scheduling effectively to maintain adequate coverage is an essential part of the job. The supervisor takes the lead in training and retraining staff to meet company standards and enforces departmental policies rigorously. Accountability is a major focus, with responsibilities including conducting counseling or disciplinary actions when necessary to maintain operational standards. Building and maintaining effective interpersonal relationships with associates, peers, customers, and managers is crucial to creating a motivated and efficient team environment.

Further responsibilities include supervising special projects, managing on-call or new employees, auditing essential operational tools such as building keys and payroll, and ensuring clear communication of issues requiring attention or repair. The supervisor also oversees supply inventories, distributes equipment as needed, monitors equipment performance, and reports maintenance or repair needs. They assist with employee performance evaluations and recommend performance ratings. The role may also involve participating in custodial work assignments as needed and providing essential operational support during emergencies such as inclement weather or catastrophes.

Job Requirements

  • Prior supervisory experience required
  • Must be physically able to lift, lower, push and pull objects up to 50 lb unassisted
  • Ability to stand, climb, bend, stoop and crouch for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to initiate and maintain good customer and co-worker relationships in a team environment
  • Demonstrates good written and verbal skills and can follow oral or written instructions and directions
  • Bi-lingual preferred (English and Spanish)
  • Demonstrates strong customer service, interpersonal skills and attention to detail

Job Duties

  • Conduct daily and frequent inspections for quality and safety and implement corrective action
  • Understand all employee work assignments and schedule for adequate coverage
