The synergy between Legends Global’s global expertise and Detroit’s vibrant local culture creates a powerful platform for hosting diverse large-scale events efficiently and successfully.

The Custodial Supervisor role at Huntington Place is an essential leadership position within the Environmental Services department. This role requires overseeing the daily operations of custodial staff to ensure that all cleaning and maintenance assignments are completed with a high level of quality, safety, and efficiency. Reporting directly to the Environmental Services Operations Manager, the Custodial Supervisor plays a key part in providing direction and motivation to frontline team members while upholding the highest standards of cleanliness and service throughout the facility.

The ideal Custodial Supervisor is a proactive self-starter who excels in managing people and operations in a fast-paced environment typical of a busy convention center. This role demands strong organizational skills and the ability to adapt fluidly to shifting priorities and operational challenges. The supervisor must foster a team environment that encourages accountability, cooperation, and high morale among custodial staff, while ensuring smooth coordination with other departments and shifts.

Key responsibilities include leadership in daily operational tasks, managing work schedules, monitoring performance against safety and quality standards, and managing staffing needs. The role also encompasses involvement in employee relations activities such as coaching, discipline, and performance management. Additional duties include overseeing inventory and supply levels, managing equipment operations safely, and contributing to continuous improvement efforts through detailed reporting and analysis of departmental performance.

The Custodial Supervisor position offers a competitive salary reflective of experience, alongside a comprehensive benefits package that starts immediately upon employment. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid vacation, holidays and sick leave, and a 401(k) plan with company match. The role requires physical stamina and flexibility, including standing and walking for long periods, performing physical tasks such as lifting, and working varied hours including evenings and weekends based on event demands.

Huntington Place and Legends Global are committed to equal employment opportunity, encouraging applications from women, minorities, individuals with disabilities, and protected veterans. This role provides a unique opportunity to be part of a globally recognized leader in event venue management while making a tangible impact within one of America’s largest and most prestigious convention centers.
