The role of Housekeeping Custodial Cast Member at Aulani is essential in maintaining the pristine condition of the resort’s facilities, ensuring a clean, welcoming, and safe environment for both guests and staff. This position involves cleaning and maintaining all hotel property areas including restaurants, restrooms, pool areas, lobby spaces, meeting rooms, and backstage support areas. Cast Members in this role directly contribute to guest satisfaction by upholding high cleanliness standards that enhance the overall guest experience. Responsibilities include vacuuming, shampooing carpets, polishing floors, disinfecting restroom fixtures, maintaining outdoor walkways, and keeping all public and backstage areas orderly. This role requires teamwork and coordination with other departments, as well as adherence to safety protocols and use of personal protective equipment. Given its hands-on nature, the position also demands flexibility, proactive communication, and enthusiasm for guest interaction. The pay rate for this part-time role in Hawaii is $32.95 per hour, with selected benefits such as medical and financial options potentially available depending on position level. Job Requirements
- Flexible and adaptable to various work conditions and schedules
- Proactive in communicating concerns and reacting to situation promptly
- Must be able to use personal protective equipment and cleaning tools safely
- Willingness to engage in physically demanding tasks including cleaning spills and messes
- Self-directed with ability to perform repetitious tasks while maintaining standards
- Enthusiastic about guest service and interaction
- Availability to work a minimum of three full days per week including weekends
- Ability to work up to 40 hours per week during training period
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous experience in housekeeping or custodial roles advantageous
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Good communication skills for guest interaction
- Proactive and adaptable to changing work environments
- Knowledge of Hawaiian or Japanese language preferred but not required
Job Duties
- Maintain cleanliness of all Front of House Guest areas
- Clean and vacuum carpets and floors in restaurants
- Clean carpets, stairways, floors, walls, doors, and windows in lobbies
- Thoroughly clean and disinfect all restroom fixtures and floors
- Clean and maintain off-stage support areas such as offices and break rooms
- Rinse and wash down exterior walkways and hardscape areas
- Clean and maintain pool deck and furniture
- Clean walls, doors, windows, and ceilings in all designated areas
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure safety and task completion
- Restock all cleaning supplies as needed
- Operate specialized floor cleaning equipment
- Perform guest room cleaning and room delivery duties during graveyard shifts
