Founded in 1909, ABM operates with a workforce of more than 100,000 team members across 350+ offices internationally, serving over 20,000 clients in various industries such as commercial office buildings, universities, airports, hospitals, data centers, manufacturing plants, and entertainment venues. Their comprehensive offerings cover janitorial, engineering, parking, electrical and lighting, HVAC and mechanical, landscape and turf, as well as mission-critical solutions. ABM's longstanding reputation for excellence and commitment to quality services has made it a trusted partner for organizational clients worldwide.

The Custodial Assistant Account Manager – Evening Operations will play a vital leadership role within ABM’s operations at a major medical university campus. This full-time evening-shift position offers an annual salary range of $80,000 to $90,000 and emphasizes operational leadership, team development, and quality assurance to uphold the highest cleanliness and safety standards in academic, research, clinical, administrative, and public areas. The role demands hands-on management of evening custodial activities to ensure a safe, clean, and inviting environment for students, faculty, staff, patients, and visitors alike.

This leadership position requires the development and execution of staffing plans, cleaning schedules, and service standards that align with client expectations and regulatory requirements. Oversight duties involve continuous monitoring via inspections, audits, and performance metrics to drive service excellence. The Custodial Assistant Account Manager ensures appropriate staffing, including emergency coverage and special events, while strictly enforcing safety protocols such as proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and handling of cleaning chemicals.

Key to the position is team leadership, including recruiting, training, mentoring, and supervising a diverse group of custodial personnel from frontline workers to supervisors and leads. The role cultivates a culture of accountability, professionalism, safety, and outstanding customer service through performance evaluations, scheduling management, and coaching programs aimed at employee development and productivity enhancement.

Quality assurance and continuous improvement are integral components, with responsibilities that include conducting routine inspections, addressing deficiencies with corrective action plans, and identifying operational enhancements for efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Collaboration with campus stakeholders ensures custodial services meet organizational and client expectations. The Custodial Assistant Account Manager maintains precise records documenting inspections, staffing, training, safety compliance, and overall operational performance.

This role requires a high school diploma or GED as a minimum educational qualification, with preference given to candidates holding an associate's or bachelor's degree. Candidates must possess 3-5 years of experience in custodial, facilities, environmental services, or operations management, ideally in healthcare, higher education, research, or institutional environments. Proficiency in labor management, scheduling, employee development, and Microsoft Office along with facility management or work order systems is essential. The ability to respond flexibly to operational needs during evening shifts and beyond regular business hours is also expected.

By joining ABM, the Custodial Assistant Account Manager – Evening Operations will be part of a leading facility services organization committed to diversity, equal opportunity, and accommodating individuals with disabilities. ABM is also a military-friendly employer offering a welcoming environment for veterans transitioning to civilian careers.
