The Culinary Technician (On-Call) position at Land O'Lakes Culinary Center is a flexible, on-call role designed to support both retail and food service test kitchens. This role requires an individual who understands the dynamics of a professional kitchen, which can be gained through experience working in food service kitchens or catering businesses. The primary responsibility of this position is to maintain kitchen facilities, ensuring cleanliness, organization, and efficient operation daily. This includes washing dishes, laundering kitchen linens, cleaning workspaces, and maintaining the functional upkeep of kitchen equipment. In addition to cleanliness and organization, the Culinary Technician oversees stock management, ensuring kitchen staples are replenished and storage areas are orderly. The role also includes managing grocery orders through platforms like Instacart, checking in and distributing both grocery items and Sysco products, and communicating with requestors about order arrivals.

This is a position that demands strong multitasking skills and a proactive approach to kitchen maintenance to support culinary teams effectively. The shift is flexible but requires availability several days per week between 8am and 4pm, with work hours dictated by business needs. The position compensates at $25.00 per hour and is based at the Land O'Lakes office in Arden Hills, MN. The Culinary Technician role is critical in ensuring that the Culinary Center operates smoothly, providing a clean, organized, and well-stocked environment that enables culinary professionals to focus on food innovation and excellence. Candidates for this role must be physically capable of lifting up to 40 pounds and standing for the majority of their shift. The role also requires basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office to assist with grocery ordering and communication tasks.
