The Pastry Cook position at JPMorgan Chase is based at the new 270 Park location and forms a crucial part of the elite Culinary Team. This role primarily supports the Pastry Chef in the production and service of a wide variety of pastry items and breads for all outlets within the establishment. The ideal candidate will be a passionate and creative individual who demonstrates great attention to detail and possesses a wide array of pastry skills. They must be eager to learn, grow, and contribute to developing new pastry items and maintaining high standards of food quality and safety.

As a Pastry Cook at JPMorgan Chase, you will be expected to collaborate effectively within a diverse team that values a strong work ethic. Responsibilities include setting up and stocking pastry stations according to prep lists and recipes, labeling and rotating products using FIFO (First In, First Out), and maintaining thorough knowledge of recipes, ingredients, and allergens. The role demands meticulous organization to ensure that work areas remain clean and efficient, even under pressure. You will also manage inventory counts, handle receiving stock, and report any discrepancies or issues promptly.

The position requires adherence to strict safety and sanitation standards as outlined by JPMC food quality policies and the NYC Sanitation Code. You will be expected to inspect ingredients, finished goods, and equipment regularly and escalate any problems to maintain optimal operational standards. Punctuality and professionalism, including arriving on time in uniform, are vital. Other duties may be assigned as required, emphasizing flexibility and adaptability in the role.

  • safely and efficiently use cutlery and operate common pastry/kitchen equipment
  • maintain a clean, organized work environment and uphold sanitation standards
  • consistently perform essential job functions safely and successfully, meeting qualitative and quantitative standards
  • demonstrate strong communication skills and follow instructions accurately in a fast-paced setting
  • lift and carry up to 50 lbs
  • stand for long periods of times
  • frequently walk, bend, reach above shoulder height, and climb stairs
  • maintain regular, punctual attendance with flexible availability, including shifts that may exceed 10 hours when needed

Job Duties
