Job Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of culinary experience
- ServSafe manager certification strongly preferred
- knowledge of food safety standards
- leadership skills
- effective time management
- good communication skills
- ability to pass drug test and background check
- ability to perform essential job functions
- willingness to work approximately 12 hours per day
- ability to live and work in motion environment
- ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs
- willingness to work seven days per week while onboard
- availability for 6 to 8 weeks onboard followed by 1 to 2 weeks off
Job Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of culinary experience in a full-service resort, hotel, or cruise setting
- ServSafe manager certification is strongly preferred
- in-depth knowledge of food safety standards
- strong problem-solving skills, self-motivation, and organizational ability
- proven leadership skills with effective time management
- excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and a complete criminal background check
- experience in training and teaching
- ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without accommodation
Job Duties
- Collaborate with the executive chef to design diverse menus utilizing fresh ingredients
- oversee the culinary team to deliver delicious and beautifully presented food for cafe, buffet, and hors d'oeuvres, consistently achieving high guest satisfaction scores
- maintain consistency in culinary skill and presentation throughout all food served on board
- efficiently organize kitchen operations to ensure smooth workflow
- prepare high-quality dishes according to established menu choices
- accommodate all guest dietary requests
- maintain order and discipline in the kitchen
- prioritize hygiene and food safety standards throughout food preparation
- ensure meals are prepared swiftly and with great flavor
- enforce rigorous food and safety standards
