The Culinary Supervisor role at LifeWorks Restaurant Group is a pivotal position designed for a culinary professional who can coordinate, plan, participate in, and supervise all aspects of food production, preparation, and presentation for designated units. This role is integral in maintaining high-quality food standards and boosting both team morale and operational efficiency. The Culinary Supervisor will work closely with the Aramark Executive Chef to ensure that every food item meets rigorous expectations for quality and safety. Additionally, the role involves managing inventory, ensuring food safety compliance, and maintaining sanitary conditions throughout the kitchen. This leadership position demands hands-on involvement with staff, requiring a mix of practical culinary expertise and team management skills.

Beyond the operational oversight, the role encompasses interviewing, scheduling, training, and coaching staff members. The Culinary Supervisor is expected to cultivate a motivating environment that empowers team members and encourages professional growth. Job Requirements

  • Two to three years’ experience in a related culinary position
  • candidate will possess two to three years of post-high school education, preferably a culinary degree
  • willingness to be hands on with staff and operations
  • willingness to work event-based hours including evenings and weekends

  • advanced knowledge of the principles and practices within the food profession
  • experiential knowledge required for management of people and/or problems
  • excellent oral, reading, and written communication skills
  • willingness to be hands on with staff and operations
  • flexibility to work event-based hours including evenings and weekends

Job Duties

  • Supervise and participate in the production, preparation, and presentation of all foods for assigned units
  • ensure a sufficient inventory is maintained to meet daily needs, record deliveries, deal with discrepancies, and assist with storage
  • ensure proper handling of all food products and equipment is maintained to comply with food safety and kitchen standards
  • maintain cleanliness and high sanitation standards at all times
  • interview, schedule, train, develop, empower, coach, and counsel staff
  • resolve problems and provide open communication
  • recommend discipline as appropriate
