The featured role is based on-site at Long Beach Amphitheater and encompasses both administrative and operational responsibilities. Specifically, the Culinary Supervisor position reports directly to the Executive Chef or Sous Chef, providing essential support to all culinary operations within the venue. This role involves oversight of food production, kitchen operations, sanitation and cleanliness standards, and stewarding functions throughout the facility. The Culinary Supervisor ensures that food quality, safety standards, and operational consistency are maintained at all times, supporting and leading the culinary team to achieve these goals. Effective communication and collaboration with kitchen staff and management are crucial aspects of this role, as well as a hands-on approach to maintaining high performance in the kitchen environment. The position offers an hourly compensation rate ranging from $30 to $32, with final pay based on experience, education, certifications, and specialized skills. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • relevant culinary experience preferred
  • ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
  • must be able to lift 75 pounds and perform strenuous physical duties
  • must be able to stand for 8-10 hours a day
  • must have good communication skills
  • must be able to follow safety and sanitation guidelines

Job Duties

  • Maintain high standards of sanitation and cleanliness within the kitchen
  • support the Kitchen Manager in achieving and sustaining the highest possible Health Department rating
  • assist with training initiatives related to food safety, sanitation, and accident prevention
  • participate in recipe and technique development to ensure high-quality food preparation and presentation
  • ensure consistency in food quality by verifying recipes and methods are followed
  • monitor and maintain kitchen equipment, reporting hazardous conditions or unsafe practices
  • collaborate with the Kitchen Manager on food production, menu development, and menu specifications including pricing
  • check and taste food items prior to service or events to ensure quality standards are met
  • work closely with sous chefs to ensure timely execution of dishes within required temperature guidelines
  • oversee kitchen opening and closing procedures and serve as final person to depart
  • conduct staff training sessions as assigned
  • perform other duties as assigned by the Kitchen Manager
