Job Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Ability to complete and maintain required food safety certifications
- Minimum of 2-3 years' work experience in back-of-house restaurant or food-service position
- One-year supervisory experience preferred
- Ability to perform opening, closing and side work duties
- Ability to handle physical demands of the role, including standing for entire shifts and lifting up to 50 lbs
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Basic math skills for inventory control
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of 2-3 years' work experience in back-of-house restaurant or food-service position, in a high-volume environment
- One-year supervisory experience in restaurant or service environment preferred
- Ability to complete and maintain required food safety certifications
- Knowledgeable in the operation of a high-volume sit-down restaurant with high service standards
- Basic math skills
- ability to accurately account for inventory
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- ability to communicate with staff and to prepare written reports
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- ability to direct the work activities of several team members simultaneously and plan ahead
Job Duties
- Supervise food prep work while maintaining food quality, presentation and sanitation standards
- Verify that all portion sizes, recipes, quality standards, department rules, policies and procedures are maintained by kitchen associates
- Ensure all kitchen equipment is in full working order
- Always maintain cleanliness and organization of walk-ins and freezers
- Effectively supervise proper breakdown, rotation, labeling, dating, and storage of food
- Perform opening, closing and side work duties as instructed and according to proper guidelines
- Train new and existing team members, under the direction of management
- Handle disciplinary matters and ensure quality employee performance
- Ensure quality, accuracy and timely delivery of food and beverage orders
- Verify all paperwork is complete and turned in at conclusion of shift
- Ensure all workstations and storeroom areas remain clean, sanitized, safe and sufficiently stocked
- Adhere to and enforce inventory and labor control measures
