Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in food service or culinary supervision preferred
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends
- Basic computer skills
- Good communication and leadership skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift moderate weights
- Commitment to food safety and sanitation practices
Job Qualifications
- Must be able to read, write, and understand verbal instructions
- Must have completed or be willing to complete a sanitation course within the first year
- Knowledgeable in operating an efficient cost-effective food service program
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic
- Maintain emotional control under stress
- Ability to resolve interpersonal conflicts
- Possess strong organizational skills
Job Duties
- Produce and maintain work schedules and prepare production packets including production sheets and recipes
- Direct daily activities in the kitchen and food service areas
- Maintain food production standards to ensure safety and quality according to policies and department requirements
- Ensure food items are stored safely, organized, and hazard-free
- Maintain serving schedules and ensure all food items are served per menu specifications in a safe and appropriate manner
- Maintain a sanitary department in compliance with health and safety codes and regulations
- Maintain accurate weekly inventory
- Prepare orders as needed to ensure production accuracy
- Supervise and evaluate employees, promote employee growth, efficiency, morale, and teamwork
- Maintain a safe and hazard-free working environment
- Train and mentor food service workers
- Maintain logs on equipment maintenance within the department
- Complete food safety and temperature logs with corrective actions as necessary
- Perform preventative maintenance checklists
- Recommend equipment replacement as needed
- Fill in for absent employees
- Manage daily catering event preparation and delivery
- Work occasional nights and weekends for catered events
- Attend food service meetings and maintain staff communication
- Perform cashier duties as needed
- Promote good public relations
