The role of Culinary Supervisor at Caesars Superdome, part of Legends Global, is a critical leadership position within the Food and Beverage department reporting to the Executive Chef or Sous Chef. This is an hourly, non-exempt position offering competitive pay in the range of $20 to $25 per hour on a part-time basis, making it an excellent opportunity for culinary professionals looking to advance their supervisory skills in a dynamic environment. The Culinary Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all aspects of food preparation and managing the day-to-day operations within the kitchen related to banquet and event service. Key responsibilities include ordering and receiving food items, coordinating production based on banquet event orders, maintaining kitchen cleanliness and equipment, managing inventory and quality control, and serving as the acting kitchen lead during the absence of senior chefs. Effective communication and coordination between kitchen and warehouse teams, as well as other departments during events, is essential. Job Requirements
- At least high school diploma or equivalent
- Serve-safe certification
- Minimum of 4 years culinary experience in banquet or large event kitchen environment
- Ability to stand for 8 or more hours and walk extensively during shifts
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends
- Adherence to local health codes
- Proficiency with computer software such as Excel
- Ability to multitask and work under pressure
Job Qualifications
- Serve-safe certified
- At least 4 years of culinary experience in a banquet facility producing meals for large events
- Advanced oral and written communication skills
- Strong orientation to customer service and ability to work with other staff members in the facility
- Results oriented individual with the ability to meet required budgetary goals
- Excellent organizational, planning, communication, and inter-personal skills
- Ability to undertake and complete multiple tasks
- Computer skills to include Excel programs
- Must adhere to local Health Department codes
- Ability to be creative with food presentations and maintain a quality product
Job Duties
- Ordering, receiving and preparing food items
- Maintaining food costs and budget goals
- Produce required product according to Banquet Event Orders for each event
- Attend in-house event-related meetings and relay immediate changes with other departments
- Ability to oversee and direct hourly culinary staff
- Ensure all requisitions to the Warehouse and Kitchen are received in a timely manner, in accordance with company policy
- Coordinate with Kitchen on the timing and production of functions
- Possess effective communications skills to liaise between Kitchen and Warehouse teams
- Maintain all kitchen equipment cleanliness and annual maintenance
- Conduct inventory and quality controls
- Responsible for kitchen in absence of Executive Chef and Sous Chef
- Assist in the training of all kitchen staff
