About the Role: Hotel Bardo Savannah is seeking a skilled and motivated Culinary Supervisor to oversee and support daily kitchen operations. This role is vital in maintaining the high culinary standards and operational efficiency that define the hospitality excellence of Hotel Bardo. The Culinary Supervisor will lead kitchen team members through prep and service periods, ensuring workflow is efficient and aligned with brand standards. This position requires strong organizational skills, leadership capabilities, and a commitment to quality food preparation and presentation.
The Culinary Supervisor will assist chefs with production planning, station organization, and inventory management while ensuring compliance with food safety and sanitation protocols. Key responsibilities include supervising kitchen staff, monitoring food quality and portioning, training new team members, and minimizing food waste. Effective communication with both kitchen and front-of-house teams is crucial to ensure seamless service execution. This role demands flexibility and a proactive approach to problem-solving in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years of professional kitchen experience in a high-volume or upscale dining environment
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, food preparation techniques, and sanitation standards
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Job Qualifications
- 2+ years of professional kitchen experience in a high-volume or upscale dining environment
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, food preparation techniques, and sanitation standards
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Culinary training or degree preferred but not required with relevant experience
Job Duties
- Supervise kitchen team members during prep and service to ensure efficient workflow and consistent execution
- Assist with food preparation, cooking, and plating according to established recipes and presentation standards
- Support chefs with daily production planning and station organization
- Monitor food quality, portioning, and presentation to ensure brand standards are met throughout service
- Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards
- Help train and onboard new kitchen team members on procedures and standards
- Maintain organization of workstations, walk-ins, and storage areas
- Assist with inventory management, product rotation, and minimizing food waste
- Communicate clearly with kitchen and service teams to ensure smooth service execution
