The Food Service Worker role is a vital position within Aramark’s food service team. The primary responsibility is to assist the manager in preparing high-quality meals and maintaining accurate records of cash receipts and meal counts. This role involves significant interaction with daily operational activities, including generating daily verification reports, adhering to strict food safety and sanitation standards, and supporting kitchen safety practices consistently. Candidates for this position must maintain the highest standards in food production, including proper sanitation procedures and equipment care, ensuring customers receive meals that are both safe and visually appealing. The role requires excellent multitasking skills to manage food preparation, storage, cleaning duties, and collaboration with the manager to meet daily menu requirements.

In this role, the Food Service Worker will contribute to a positive dining experience by preparing quality food and baked goods according to specified menus and schedules, ensuring proper food temperatures, and maintaining clean and organized kitchen and storage areas. Responsibilities also include cleaning and sanitizing kitchen equipment, assisting with major cleaning tasks such as refrigerators and freezers, and adhering to uniform and personal protective equipment policies. The physical demands of this position may include lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, extended standing, and walking. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous experience in food service or related field is an advantage
  • Ability to follow food safety and sanitation procedures
  • Strong attention to detail and teamwork skills
  • Ability to handle physical demands including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and prolonged standing
  • Willingness to wear uniforms and personal protective equipment
  • Excellent communication skills

Job Qualifications

  • Food service certificate as needed
  • Sufficient education or training to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions
  • Be able to work quickly and concisely under pressure

Job Duties

  • Prepare quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu
  • Prepare a daily report that verifies transactions
  • Understand what is inclusive of a meal
  • Ensure storage of food in an accurate and sanitary manner
  • Serve food according to meal schedules, department policies and procedures
  • Use and care of kitchen equipment, especially knives
  • Timely preparation of a variety of food items, beverages
  • Add garnishments to ensure customer happiness and eye appeal
  • Coordinate and assist in major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking and serving equipment
  • Adhere to all food safety regulations for sanitation, food handling, and storage
  • Adhere to the uniform policy
  • Connect with the manager daily to understand and accurately prepare menu for the day
  • Supervise the food temperature requirements
  • Maintain a clean and organized work and storage area
  • Scrub and polish counters, clean and sanitize steam tables, and other equipment
  • Follow established procedures and standards for cleanliness, to ensure a balanced and safe environment
  • Maintain garbage collection site and kitchen floor areas in a neat and sanitary fashion
  • Perform other duties as assigned including other areas in the kitchen
  • Consistently use personal protective equipment and uniforms as required
