The role of Deputy Head Chef at Aramark is essential in maintaining the efficient operation of the kitchen, especially during the absence of the Head Chef. This role requires a high level of culinary skill, leadership qualities, and a dedication to maintaining food safety and hygiene standards in compliance with relevant legislation. The Deputy Head Chef supports the Head Chef by managing daily kitchen activities, assisting in menu planning, overseeing food ordering processes, and ensuring the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and service. Additionally, this position plays a key part in monitoring supplier deliveries, managing HACCP procedures, conducting stock-takes, and evaluating staff training needs.
In this role, the candidate will be expected to maintain excellent communication and relationships with clients, customers, and staff, uphold company policies related to dress code and kitchen hygiene, and contribute to overall service quality by performing any reasonable tasks necessary for smooth kitchen operations. Job Requirements
- NVQ Level 1, 2, and 3 or equivalent
- 1-2 years' experience in a professional kitchen or productive catering
- basic food hygiene certification

Job Duties
- Assume complete responsibility for overall kitchen operation in the absence of Head Chef
- support Head Chef in efficient management of the kitchen
- ensure compliance with client contract and high standards
- maintain food safety and hygiene in line with legislation
- assist in crafting innovative menu cycles within budget
- ensure high standards of food quality, presentation, and service
- manage food orders using approved suppliers
- check and sign food deliveries to verify produce quality
- enforce adherence to Food Hygiene Regulations
- implement and maintain HACCP procedures and records
- assist with stock-takes
- evaluate training needs of kitchen staff
- perform cleaning and hygiene duties as assigned
- review kitchen hazard list weekly with Head Chef
- maintain good communication with clients, customers, and staff
- enforce company dress code
- perform any reasonable tasks to support kitchen efficiency
