The Food Service Worker role at Aramark is integral to the seamless execution of daily food preparation and service operations. This position involves assisting the manager with meal preparation and maintaining accurate cash receipts and meal records to ensure operational efficiency. The worker plays a crucial role in upholding the highest standards of food quality, sanitation, and kitchen safety practices, which are vital for maintaining customer satisfaction and compliance with health regulations. Daily responsibilities include preparing quality food and baked goods following a planned menu, ensuring food is stored correctly and hygienically, and serving food according to scheduled meal times and departmental guidelines. This role also demands proficiency in using kitchen equipment safely, particularly knives, and participating in major cleaning tasks such as cleaning refrigerators, freezers, and cooking and serving equipment.
Moreover, the Food Service Worker coordinates with the manager daily to understand and prepare the menu accurately, supervises food temperature requirements, and maintains a clean and organized working environment. Keeping counters polished, steam tables sanitized, and the kitchen floor tidy is part of this position’s cleaning duties. The role includes adhering to a uniform policy and using necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to maintain safety standards. Those who take on this position must be capable of working under pressure deftly and efficiently, able to perform physical tasks like lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and standing for extended periods.

Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- prior experience in food service preferred
- ability to follow safety and sanitation procedures
- physical ability to perform lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended standing
- ability to work flexible hours including weekends
- willingness to wear uniforms and Personal Protective Equipment
- good communication skills

Job Duties
- prepare quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu
- prepare a daily report that verifies transactions
- understand what is inclusive of a meal
- ensure storage of food in an accurate and sanitary manner
- serve food according to meal schedules, department policies and procedures
- use and care of kitchen equipment, especially knives
- timely preparation of a variety of food items and beverages
- add garnishments to ensure customer happiness and eye appeal
- coordinate and assist in major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking and serving equipment
- adhere to all food safety regulations for sanitation, food handling, and storage
- adhere to the uniform policy
- connect with the Manager daily to understand and accurately prepare menu for the day
- supervise the food temperature requirements
- maintain a clean and organized work and storage area
- scrub and polish counters, clean and sanitize steam tables and other equipment
- follow established procedures and standards for cleanliness, sweeping, moping, ware washing
- maintain garbage collection site and kitchen floor areas in a neat and sanitary fashion
- perform other duties as assigned including other areas in the kitchen
- comply with physical demands including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing
- wear uniforms and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required
