The Food Service Worker role at Aramark is essential in supporting kitchen operations and ensuring high-quality food service and safety standards. This position involves assisting the manager with meal preparation, maintaining accurate cash receipts, and keeping detailed meal records. The Food Service Worker will play a critical role in upholding food production standards, sanitation, and kitchen safety protocols to create a safe and enjoyable dining experience for customers. Responsibilities include preparing quality food and baked goods as per a planned menu; assisting in producing daily transaction reports; ensuring proper food storage and sanitation; and adhering to strict food safety regulations and uniform policies. The role also requires regular communication with the manager to align with daily menu plans and supervise food temperature requirements to maintain compliance with health standards.
Additionally, the Food Service Worker is responsible for maintaining an organized work environment, cleaning equipment, and assisting with deep cleaning tasks such as refrigeration and freezer maintenance. Physical demands of the job include lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and possibly extended periods of walking and standing. The use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and the adherence to safety policies is mandatory. Job Duties
- Prepare quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu
- Prepare a daily report that verifies transactions
- Understand what is inclusive of a meal
- Ensure storage of food in an accurate and sanitary manner
- Serve food according to meal schedules, department policies and procedures
- Use and care of kitchen equipment, especially knives
- Timely preparation of a variety of food items, beverages, and add garnishments to ensure customer happiness and eye appeal
- Coordinate and assist in major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking and serving equipment
- Adhere to all food safety regulations for sanitation, food handling, and storage
- Adhere to the uniform policy
- Connect with the Manager daily to understand and accurately prepare menu for the day
- Supervise the food temperature requirements
- Maintain a clean and organized work and storage area
- Scrub and polish counters, clean and sanitize steam tables, and other equipment
- Follow established procedures and standards for cleanliness, to ensure a balanced and safe environment
- Maintain garbage collection site and kitchen floor areas in a neat and sanitary fashion
- Perform other duties as assigned including other areas in the kitchen
- Physical demands including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and/or extended walking and standing
- Usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
