Culinary Specialists are responsible for planning menus that meet nutritional needs and standards, ordering and managing subsistence inventories, preparing and serving meals across various dining venues including mess decks, wardrooms, and executive spaces. They supervise food production teams, enforce food safety and sanitation procedures, and maintain financial and inventory records to ensure operational efficiency. Assigned personnel may also support high-profile executive food services and participate in flight food service duties. Training pathways include recruitment and accession training, followed by formal schooling and on-the-job qualifications in culinary techniques, food safety, and galley operations. Job Requirements

  • United States citizenship or legal residency as applicable
  • high school diploma or equivalent

  • meet medical, vision, and dental standards including body composition and physical fitness requirements
  • pass background screening and character standards
  • achieve required aptitude test scores
  • meet eligibility criteria for security clearance if required
  • ability to work safely in hot and fast paced environments

Job Qualifications

Job Duties
