- Eligibility to serve in the United States Navy
- a high school diploma or equivalent for enlisted positions
- meet age limits according to program and Navy policy
- meet medical, vision, and dental standards
- meet character and conduct standards
- achieve required test scores for the program
- eligibility for security clearance
- ability to meet Navy enlistment standards
- work safely in hot and fast paced galley environments
Job Qualifications
- Meet general Navy enlistment or commissioning standards
- eligibility to serve in the United States Navy
- possess a high school diploma or equivalent for enlisted positions
- bachelor’s or qualifying professional degree for officer positions
- meet age limits set by Navy policy
- fulfill medical, vision, dental, and physical fitness standards
- adhere to character and conduct standards
- pass required test scores such as ASVAB
- eligibility for security clearance if required
- team orientation with good communication and customer service skills
- solid arithmetic and record keeping abilities
- interest in culinary arts, nutrition, and food safety
- ability to follow recipes, portioning, and sanitation procedures
Job Duties
- Plan menus and order subsistence
- prepare and serve meals in galleys, mess decks, and wardrooms
- manage storerooms, inventories, and financial records
- operate and maintain kitchen and dining spaces
- lead food production teams and supervise sanitation and food safety
- support executive dining services and protocol events
- perform flight food service duties when assigned
