The Culinary Services Coordinator role at Legend Senior Living is a pivotal position tasked with overseeing the culinary operations within the community. This role is essential to delivering a superior dining experience that aligns with the company’s Gold Leaf Dining standards, which emphasizes quality, nutrition, and resident satisfaction. The coordinator is responsible for menu planning, ensuring that meals are nutritious and tailored to meet the dietary requirements and special requests of residents. Beyond culinary planning, this position involves managing the kitchen and dining room staff, including hiring, training, and scheduling, to maintain smooth and efficient food service operations. The coordinator also manages the department budget, inventory, and expense control to optimize resources effectively.
Maintaining high standards of food safety, cleanliness, and organization in all preparation, cooking, serving, and storage areas is critical in this role. The Culinary Services Coordinator works closely with residents daily, ensuring that each meal served contributes positively to their wellbeing and overall living experience. Moreover, the coordinator shares leadership responsibilities by serving as Manager-On-Duty on a rotating basis with other department leaders, ensuring consistent management coverage and decision-making.

Job Requirements
- Prefer one year experience cooking in a commercial kitchen
- prefer experience supervising culinary staff
- required current food handling license as required by the state

Job Duties
- Planning a variety of nutritious meals that meet dietary requirements including special requests if requested
- managing the department budget and expense management including inventory
- directly supervising all dietary staff including hiring training scheduling etc
- working daily as a part of the team to ensure quality food service in accordance with Legend’s Gold Leaf Dining standards including interacting with residents daily
- ensuring all cooking serving storage preparation and service areas are clean safe and organized to meet all applicable food service standards and regulations
- acting as manager-on-duty on a rotating basis with other department leaders
