Job Description
Village on the Green is a vibrant senior living community located at 500 Village Place, Longwood, Florida. As part of Lifespace Communities, one of the nation's largest nonprofit retirement community providers, Village on the Green offers a warm, welcoming environment for over 5,100 residents served by more than 4,500 team members nationally. Lifespace is headquartered in West Des Moines, Iowa, and Dallas, Texas. Lifespace Communities has a rich history of over 40 years of success, committed to empowering people to live their aspirations through compassionate care, meaningful connections, and engaging experiences. The culture at Village on the Green strongly emphasizes personal growth, teamwork, and delivering purpose-driven service, making it an excellent place for individuals passionate about making a difference in the senior living sector.
The Culinary Server role at Village on the Green offers an exciting opportunity for individuals seeking to kickstart or grow their careers in hospitality and senior living services. This hourly role pays between $15.00 and $17.67 per hour and is ideal for candidates who are eager to learn and develop new skills in a supportive, team-focused environment. The main responsibility of this position is to create personalized dining experiences for residents and guests by ensuring prompt and professional service. Culinary Servers greet residents and guests warmly, take accurate orders through a point-of-sale system, serve meals and beverages efficiently, and attend to room service needs including setting up and clearing trays in residents’ rooms.
Beyond the meal service, Culinary Servers actively participate in maintaining a clean and organized culinary venue by stocking pantry supplies, performing side duties, and ensuring that all dining areas meet high cleanliness standards. The position requires a proactive attitude and commitment to excellence as part of a larger team dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for seniors. No previous experience or formal education is required, making it accessible to a wide range of applicants. Candidates must, however, be willing to complete a background screening as mandated by Florida law for healthcare positions. Lifespace Communities values candidates who bring enthusiasm and a willingness to learn, highlighting the community’s focus on career development and long-term growth within the organization.
Joining the Village on the Green team means becoming part of a mission-driven organization that prioritizes resident well-being and team member satisfaction. Lifespace’s goal is to foster an environment where employees can thrive both personally and professionally. Team members enjoy ongoing opportunities for skill development, guidance from experienced leadership, and the chance to contribute to meaningful, personalized experiences that positively impact residents’ lives. For those who aspire to grow their career in the senior living industry and who are passionate about serving older adults, this Culinary Server position provides a unique entry point. It offers not only competitive compensation but also the chance to be part of a supportive and caring community dedicated to excellence and innovation in senior living care.
