The Pastry Chef at Vinarosa Resort & Spa plays a pivotal role in maintaining the culinary excellence that defines the resort's brand. This position is essential to crafting refined and memorable dessert offerings that complement the resort’s diverse dining venues. The Pastry Chef works collaboratively with the Food & Beverage department and front-of-house teams to ensure that every dessert served meets stringent quality, presentation, and sanitation standards. This role requires a disciplined approach to culinary artistry, with an emphasis on consistency, innovation, and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities include preparing menu items strictly according to established recipes while ensuring consistency in taste, appearance, and portion control. The Pastry Chef must uphold all food safety, sanitation, and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) regulations meticulously. This position also requires active involvement in mise en place, scheduling, and service execution across all outlets, as well as supporting banquet and special event food production when needed. Maintaining clean, organized, and safe workstation environments is a must, alongside vigilant inventory management practices such as proper labeling, storage, and first-in-first-out (FIFO) adherence to minimize waste.

Beyond technical skills, the Pastry Chef is expected to foster a collaborative and respectful kitchen culture, demonstrating leadership qualities such as integrity, accountability, and professionalism. The ability to stay calm under pressure, communicate effectively across departments, and contribute to a seamless, guest-centered dining experience is crucial. This role requires flexibility in scheduling, including availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays, to meet the fast-paced demands of the resort’s culinary operations.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Proven experience as a pastry chef or relevant culinary role
  • Knowledge of food safety and HACCP standards
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods
  • Capability to handle heat, sharp tools, and lift up to 50 pounds
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Willingness to collaborate in a team environment
