Job Description
P.F. Chang's is a renowned restaurant brand known for its innovative approach to Asian cuisine and commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences. Established as a leader in the casual dining sector, P.F. Chang's combines a contemporary restaurant environment with authentic culinary techniques, appealing to those who appreciate quality food and a welcoming atmosphere. With multiple locations nationwide, P.F. Chang's maintains a strong reputation for innovation, quality, and outstanding guest service, supporting a brand that continues to grow and evolve.
The Culinary Operations Manager (or Executive Chef) position at P.F. Chang's is a full-time, salaried role offering a competitive pay range based on experience, from $89,000 to $109,000 per year. This role is vital to the success of the kitchen operations, tasked with leading a dynamic culinary team to maintain the highest culinary standards. The manager oversees the entire food service operation within the kitchen, ensuring quality and consistency while maintaining performance excellence. Additional responsibilities include hiring, training, and developing culinary staff, managing kitchen inventory, controlling food costs, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Reporting directly to the restaurant Operating Partner or General Manager, this role plays a strategic part in the kitchen's day-to-day and long-term success.
The Culinary Operations Manager will be expected to promote a culture of teamwork, safety, and clean operations, leading through example and fostering an environment of professional growth. Key responsibilities include preparing work schedules, overseeing training programs, maintaining safety certifications, conducting performance appraisals, and ensuring adherence to dress code and food quality standards. Operational excellence within a fast-paced, high-volume environment is paramount, making strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills essential for success.
In addition to the foundational role in kitchen management, the position offers an opportunity to grow within a company that values professional development. P.F. Chang's offers a paid management training program and promotes from within, supporting career advancement. The benefits package includes comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, a 401(k) plan with company contributions, paid time off, monthly and annual bonuses based on performance, as well as exclusive employee discounts. Furthermore, the company fosters a supportive community culture, providing financial assistance when needed through initiatives like the Lucky Cat Fund, and keeps most locations closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas to foster work-life balance.
Working at P.F. Chang's means joining a passionate team committed to a purpose beyond the plate — to celebrate life, family, and food. This role offers a challenging yet rewarding experience for candidates looking to make an impact in a respected foodservice company that values tradition and innovation alike.
