Job Description
Outback Steakhouse is a renowned full-service restaurant brand celebrated for its unique Australian-themed dining experience, high-quality steaks, and exceptional customer service. As a part of Bloomin' Brands, Outback Steakhouse has established itself as a leader in the casual dining industry with a commitment to delivering mouth-watering dishes like the iconic Bloomin' Onion and center-cut sirloin. With a strong focus on hospitality and culinary excellence, the restaurant prides itself on creating memorable experiences for every guest while fostering a vibrant and supportive work environment. Outback Steakhouse operates numerous locations across various regions, each dedicated to upholding the brand’s rigorous quality standards and delivering an inviting atmosphere for diners and staff alike.
The role of Culinary Manager at Outback Steakhouse is a dynamic leadership position central to the success of restaurant operations. This role serves as the heart of the kitchen, overseeing all aspects of the "Back of House" functions, ensuring that every plate leaving the kitchen meets the highest standards of quality, presentation, and safety. As a Culinary Manager, you will spearhead kitchen staff management, operational efficiency, and facility upkeep. You will work closely with the restaurant's management team to supervise daily shifts, maintain a clean and safe environment, and create an energetic atmosphere where your team can thrive. This position requires a balance of culinary skill, business acumen, and strong leadership capabilities to inspire and develop your team within a fast-paced restaurant setting.
This is a full-time role that requires dedication to maintaining food quality and operational excellence while supporting a diverse team. Candidates interested in this position should be ready to embrace a diverse work schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to meet customer and business demands effectively. Compensation varies by location and includes potential bonuses based on performance and eligibility, emphasizing the company’s recognition of individual contributions toward its ongoing success.
In this role, you will manage talent acquisition efforts through recruiting, interviewing, and training new kitchen staff, building a robust team of "Outbackers" who are passionate about their craft. Mentoring and coaching team members to achieve professional growth is a key aspect of the position, helping individuals reach milestones and build rewarding careers in the hospitality industry. Additionally, the Culinary Manager is responsible for enforcing strict safety, sanitation, and security protocols to protect both guests and staff, ensuring compliance with all health and food safety regulations. Monitoring food quality and presentation is paramount, as you must guarantee adherence to Outback Steakhouse’s standardized recipes and food preparation procedures.
Guest satisfaction is a priority; as a Culinary Manager, you will actively engage with customer feedback, making necessary improvements to uphold brand loyalty and create exceptional dining experiences. Scheduling coordination is another vital duty, ensuring that kitchen staffing levels are optimized for high-volume periods and smooth service delivery. Beyond internal operations, you will represent Outback Steakhouse within the local community through marketing and outreach initiatives, strengthening the restaurant’s presence and fostering lasting connections with guests and partners.
The company fosters an inclusive work culture committed to diversity and equality, offering career advancement opportunities and comprehensive benefits packages to support employee wellness and professional development. Outback Steakhouse values team members who bring dedication, energy, and leadership to the kitchen, creating an environment where both the food and the people behind it can shine.
