Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Three to five years of experience as Food Service Manager, Chef or Dietary Manager
- Ability to lead and organize work teams
- Effective communication skills
- Problem solving abilities
- Knowledge of food safety and handling regulations
- Ability to use electronic medical record systems
- Willingness to work varied shifts including evenings, weekends and nights
- Physical ability to handle kitchen equipment and tasks
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent working knowledge
- Three to five years of work experience as a Food Service Manager, Chef or Dietary Manager
- Ability to organize, lead and direct work teams
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
- Problem solving skills with staff, physicians, patients and families
- Knowledge of food handling regulations and certification
- Ability to work with electronic medical records and kitchen equipment
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred
- Experience in healthcare preferred
- Experience with Infogenesis and CBORD applications preferred
- Bilingual skills in Spanish/English a plus
- SERVESAFE certification preferred or required within 90 days
Job Duties
- Provide leadership, planning and direction to the department staff
- Direct food production and service operations in all assigned areas
- Interview, select and hire qualified department staff
- Control staff turnover and conduct performance management including coaching and disciplining
- Provide training and development for staff
- Ensure compliance with hospital safety, OSHA and regulatory guidelines
- Interact with physicians, clinical staff and department staff regarding meal service needs
- Monitor and control operating expenses within budgetary parameters
- Supervise Food & Nutrition department in absence of the Food Service Director
- Work with clinical nutrition team to meet patient care needs
- Supervise staff, operations and financial control of specific food service areas ensuring cost effective and efficient operations
