The role of a Line Cook at Belmont Village Senior Living is vital to maintaining the high culinary standards and enriching dining experience provided to residents and their guests. This position is full-time and pivotally contributes to the food preparation, presentation, and kitchen operations in the community's commercial kitchen. As a Line Cook, you will be responsible for preparing meals from scratch according to specific recipe specifications and quality standards, ensuring that every dish served is both appetizing and consistent with Belmont Village’s standards. This role requires a reliable individual who is proud of their workmanship, empathetic towards elderly residents, and able to thrive in a dynamic and physically active kitchen environment. The Line Cook collaborates closely with the kitchen team, prioritizing exceptional hospitality in every interaction and embracing a growth mindset.
Typical responsibilities include managing multiple meal orders efficiently by properly timing the cooking process and maintaining portion control for consistent presentation. In addition, the role demands a keen attention to cleanliness and regulatory compliance within the kitchen. You will also be expected to follow checklists and company procedures to ensure that the kitchen remains well-stocked and organized at all times. The job demands flexibility in working assigned shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays when necessary. Belmont Village emphasizes the importance of consistent and reliable attendance to support the community’s operational success. All offers of employment for this role are contingent upon the successful completion of a state and federal criminal background check, drug screening, job-related physical exam, and tuberculosis test.

Job Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Professional, pleasant and team oriented attitude
- Must be able to communicate clearly in verbal and written English
- Minimum of 6 months Line Cook experience in a high volume restaurant setting
- Proven success with basic culinary skills such as knife handling, accurate measurements and cooking methods
- Ability to work assigned shifts including early morning, evenings, weekends and holidays as needed
- Consistent and reliable attendance is essential for all Belmont Village employees to ensure the successful operation of the community
- All offers of employment are conditional based on the successful completion of a State and Federal criminal background check, drug screen, job related physical and TB test
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Prepare meals from scratch according to assigned recipe specifications and quality standards
- Follow recipes, manage portion control and ensure attractive plate presentation
- Properly manage cook times while preparing and efficiently managing several orders simultaneously
- Maintain cleanliness and order in the kitchen ensuring compliance with regulations, policies and procedures
- Follow checklists and company procedures to ensure kitchen is stocked and well maintained at all times
- Make hospitality, customer service, and resident satisfaction your top priorities in every interaction
