Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in culinary arts hospitality management or related field preferred
- Minimum 10 years of serious catering or high-volume food service experience
- Demonstrated leadership experience in fast-paced kitchen environments
- Ability to maintain composure and stability under pressure
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with team-first leadership mentality
- Willingness to work full-time in Pittsburgh PA
- Flexibility to handle last-minute order changes and event demands
Job Qualifications
- Culinary leadership experience with 10 plus years in catering or high-volume food service
- Proven ability to lead and mentor culinary teams through complex events
- Strong communication skills and ability to build trust and confidence in team members
- Experience operating under pressure in fast-moving kitchen environments
- Knowledge of multicultural culinary fluency embracing diverse menus and teams
- Understanding of food cost labor percentage and operational accountability
- Demonstrated capability in developing operational systems for kitchen efficiency
Job Duties
- Start each day walking the kitchens checking in with team leads and assessing staff
- Oversee food quality recipe consistency and production standards across all culinary departments
- Lead and mentor the culinary team through daily operations seasonal surges and large-volume orders
- Manage scheduling inventory awareness and vendor coordination in partnership with the administrative team
- Serve as the leadership presence by running daily check-ins coaching individuals managing conflict and building trust
- Work alongside the Executive Culinary Director to learn Bistro's systems and eventually own boots-on-the-ground operations
- Establish clear production systems and operational rhythms for high-volume event execution
