Job Requirements
- GED or high school diploma required
- Two years experience cooking in a restaurant, school or large group
- Food service supervisory experience preferred
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
- Food handler’s certificate required within first 90 days
- ServSafe certificate required within first year in applicable counties
- Pre-employment drug testing and background checks
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
- Physical capability to stand, lift, climb, stoop and perform other kitchen duties
- Excellent judgment and decision-making skills
- Ability to prepare and maintain accurate records
Job Qualifications
- GED or high school diploma
- Two years cooking experience in a restaurant, school or large group setting
- Food service supervisory experience preferred
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
- Food handler’s certificate (to be obtained within first 90 days)
- ServSafe certificate (to be obtained within the first year if applicable)
- Strong multitasking skills
- Excellent people skills and professionalism
- Ability to work under frequent interruptions
- Knowledge of safe food preparation techniques
- Understanding of kitchen sanitation and equipment cleaning
- Basic math skills
- Proven supervisory ability
- Willingness to learn required computer skills
Job Duties
- Oversee the planning, preparation and serving of meals
- Supervise all food service assistants, including paid and volunteer staff
- Cross-train employees in all kitchen positions
- Collaborate with kitchen staff and Center Lead to maintain a positive work environment
- Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation procedures
- Maintain accurate records and support kitchen operations
- Calibrate thermometers and manage kitchen equipment cleanliness
