Job Description
Chick-fil-A at Audubon Crossings & Barrington is part of a prestigious family of restaurant businesses with a proud history dating back to 1946. Founded in Hapeville, Georgia, by company founder and chairman S. Truett Cathy, Chick-fil-A has transformed from a small, local restaurant to one of the largest privately-owned restaurant chains in the United States. Best known for pioneering the original boneless breast of chicken sandwich and for its role in shaping the in-mall quick-service industry, Chick-fil-A holds a distinguished place in American food culture. The brand is synonymous with quality, service, and fresh ingredients, setting a standard within the quick-service restaurant market.
At Chick-fil-A, our kitchens emphasize simplicity and freshness. We serve chicken breast meat that is 100 percent whole, free from fillers and hormones, and painstakingly hand-breaded in each restaurant. Fresh produce deliveries arrive multiple times weekly, ensuring salads and other fresh offerings are prepared throughout the day with utmost care and dedication. Our commitment to quality extends not only to product excellence but also to the dining environment and customer experience. Chick-fil-A at Audubon Crossings & Barrington upholds core values centered on putting customers first, fostering teamwork, pursuing continuous improvement, striving for personal excellence, maintaining integrity, and practicing stewardship of the resources entrusted to us.
This role presents a leadership opportunity as a key member of the Restaurant Leadership Team, reporting directly to the Kitchen Operations Director. The primary responsibility is to enforce and maintain rigorous food safety, cleanliness, organization, and overall operational efficiencies across all kitchen day parts. The ideal candidate will be responsible for hands-on kitchen management, from ensuring that all opening and closing procedures are executed with precision and timeliness to supervising the rotation and storage of food to meet health and safety standards. The candidate will lead the team by setting clear expectations, coaching staff, and ensuring seamless communication with kitchen leadership and other departments to cultivate a culture of accountability and recognition.
This position requires a strong focus on execution of operational practices, including but not limited to the proper use of LEAN Chicken storage, daily checks and monitoring of the walk-in cooler for cleanliness and expiration dates, routine sanitation duties completed multiple times daily, and managing freezer organization for optimal efficiency. Additionally, this role demands coordinated efforts with training teams to ensure all staff are thoroughly trained on back-of-house policies, health codes, and Chick-fil-A standards. Physical safety and cleanliness standards are paramount, and the successful candidate will implement and monitor rigorous cleaning schedules, ensure proper storage to comply with fire codes, and maintain supply organization as well as chemical storage.
The leader in this role will also take ownership of critical areas such as truck order and evening counts, maintenance of cleaning tools, and overseeing safety precautions to prevent accidents. They will foster an environment of motivation and teamwork aimed at achieving the highest standards of service and cleanliness. A crucial aspect of this position is the ability to identify areas for improvement, develop solutions, and support the growth and development of next-level leaders within the kitchen.
Candidates must have the ability to work approximately 35-40 hours per week, including flexible availability to cover evenings and weekends. Federal and local health code knowledge, SERVESAFE Food Certification, and experience with food safety inspections are also essential for success. This role includes responsibilities that contribute directly to protecting the customer experience by upholding Chick-fil-A’s brand promise through exceptional packaging, food presentation, and quality. If you are dedicated to excellence and thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, this leadership position at Chick-fil-A at Audubon Crossings & Barrington offers the opportunity to make a tangible impact while advancing your career within a celebrated organization.
