The Herons Cook plays a pivotal role in maintaining the highest standards of culinary excellence and operational efficiency within The Umstead Hotel's renowned Herons restaurant. The Herons Cook is entrusted with upholding the cleanliness, organization, and efficiency of the kitchen workspace, following the systems and processes implemented by the Executive Chef and Chef De Cuisine. Reporting directly to the Chef De Cuisine or the Sous Chef team, the Herons Cook is a crucial part of the culinary team, supporting the seamless operation of the kitchen through skill, dedication, and a commitment to excellence. Job Requirements

  • High school or equivalent education
  • One to two years kitchen experience preferred
  • Ability to obtain and/or maintain government-required licenses, certificates, or permits
  • Maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance as per The Umstead Hotel standards
