The Culinary Field Chef role at Vallarta Supermarkets is a critical position within the company’s culinary operations team. Serving as a key field-based resource, the Culinary Field Chef is responsible for supporting day-to-day culinary operations across all foodservice programs and locations. This exempt position reports directly to the Director of Culinary and requires approximately 80 percent travel to various store locations to provide hands-on support. The primary focus is to ensure consistent execution of company standards in recipe adherence, product quality, and guest service experience. The Culinary Field Chef offers coaching and operational support to Kitchen Managers and foodservice teams, facilitating sales growth and operational improvements. This role also plays an essential part in new store openings, staff training and development, and continuous improvements in culinary operations.
The Culinary Field Chef collaborates closely with the Corporate Chef and cross-functional teams on menu development and rollout of new products and programs. They ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards while supporting food cost control, inventory management, and operational reporting. This position requires someone with at least five years of culinary or multi-unit operation leadership experience who can lead a team in a fast-paced environment. A high school diploma is required, with a culinary degree preferred, demonstrating a solid foundation in culinary arts and foodservice management. The role demands a leader with a passion for culinary excellence, strong communication skills, and the ability to maintain high standards across multiple locations in a dynamic and fast-evolving industry. Flexibility in work hours and readiness to travel frequently are key aspects of this position. Job Duties
- Provide culinary and operational support across all foodservice concepts
