Known for its commitment to nurturing young people through programs that promote character development, education, and healthy lifestyles, the Clubhouse operates with a strong emphasis on inclusivity, safety, and engagement. The culinary services department is integral to this mission, ensuring that nutritious, safe, and appealing food options are available to support the health and well-being of all members and staff.

This role is essential to maintaining smooth kitchen functions, which include receiving, storing, preparing, and serving meals and snacks, as well as overseeing inventory and kitchen cleanliness. The Assistant helps ensure compliance with important federal nutrition programs such as CACFP (Child and Adult Care Food Program) and SFSP (Summer Food Service Program), which are critical to providing quality meals in community settings.
This part-time, benefit-eligible role requires a reliable individual who can work Monday through Friday from 1 PM to 7 PM, covering a 32-hour workweek. The position not only demands culinary skills but also organizational capabilities to manage inventory and maintain safety standards. Additional responsibilities include assisting with event preparations and functioning as a positive role model for members, encouraging them to realize their potential. The job offers a dynamic work environment where employees interact closely with youth and contribute directly to their health and development.
The Culinary Services Assistant will be central to daily food operations, helping with meal preparation and distribution, managing kitchen equipment maintenance, and enforcing food safety and allergy protocols. Through conducting daily inspections and maintaining the overall cleanliness of the kitchen and serving areas, the assistant ensures a sanitary and efficient food service environment. The role also involves collaborating with local food banks to source usable products, supporting the Clubhouse’s commitment to sustainability and community support.
The Union Street Clubhouse provides a comprehensive benefits package for its employees, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) retirement plan with employer matching, paid time off, paid holidays, child care benefits, and wellness support programs. This commitment reflects the organization's dedication to supporting its staff's well-being and work-life balance.
