The role of Director, Culinary and Food & Beverage (F&B) Operations is a critical leadership position within Marriott International’s Emerging Luxury Businesses segment. This full-time management role is based at Marriott International HQ in Bethesda, Maryland, with an annual pay range between $126,900 and $173,000, additionally offering bonus eligibility and a stock package. The Director is responsible for leading operational support and strategic development across new and existing luxury culinary and F&B disciplines worldwide. This includes driving high-quality guest experiences through innovative product development, enhancements to culinary systems, and cross-company collaboration with brand teams, discipline leadership, and business owners.
Reporting to the Senior Director of Emerging Businesses, the Director of Culinary and F&B Operations applies market research and trend analysis to inform both long-term and short-term planning efforts. The role demands a forward-thinking approach, with a focus on sustainability initiatives, culinary training programs, and best practices aligned with prestigious standards such as Forbes Five Star and Michelin requirements. The Director facilitates collaboration between design, development, and operational teams to craft restaurant, bar, and culinary concepts that meet luxury guests’ discerning expectations.
Core responsibilities include managing multiple projects simultaneously across different continents, brands, and business units while maintaining design integrity and operational efficiency. Mentorship and professional growth of culinary and F&B development teams are key elements of the role, as is serving as a subject matter expert for culinary standards globally. The Director represents Marriott at industry events, fostering partnerships and knowledge sharing to keep Marriott at the forefront of culinary excellence.

Job Requirements
- bachelor’s degree in business administration, hotel and restaurant management, culinary science, or related field
- minimum 8 years of leadership experience in luxury culinary and restaurant/bar operations, preferably with multi-unit, corporate, or cruise/hotel/rail experience
- excellent project management and change leadership capabilities
