Job Description

The hiring establishment is a healthcare or long-term care facility dedicated to providing attentive and compassionate care to its residents. Such facilities emphasize both the physical and emotional well-being of their residents, ensuring they have a comfortable, safe, and nurturing environment. Catering to a diverse population with various dietary needs and preferences, the facility's dietary team plays a crucial role in the daily lives of residents by preparing and delivering nutritious meals that meet specific health requirements. Maintaining high standards of food safety, sanitation, and presentation is essential to uphold the standard of care in this environment. This establishment likely follows strict regulatory guidelines for food handling, infection control, and staff qualifications to maintain licensure and accreditation.

The role of the Culinary Aide within this team is vital for the food service operations of the facility. This position supports the dietary department by preparing and serving high-quality meals and snacks to residents, staff, and special events. The Culinary Aide ensures that all food is prepared safely, served at proper temperatures, and presented in an appealing manner, while contributing to a clean and organized kitchen environment. By carefully following standardized recipes and dietary requirements, the Culinary Aide helps meet the nutritional needs of residents, many of whom may have special diet orders such as low sodium, diabetic-friendly, or texture-modified meals.

This full-time employment opportunity involves day-to-day responsibilities in meal preparation and presentation, temperature monitoring, inventory assistance, and sanitation procedures. The Culinary Aide works collaboratively with the dietary team and interacts respectfully and compassionately with residents and families, adding to the overall quality of care and positive atmosphere of the facility. The position demands strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and hygienic work environment. Employees must adhere to all safety, sanitation, and infection control standards and complete required background checks in compliance with state regulations.

This role is an excellent fit for individuals interested in food service within a healthcare setting who value teamwork, reliability, and supporting the well-being of others through nutrition. Previous experience in long-term care or food service is desirable, complemented by knowledge of safe food handling and an ability to communicate clearly with residents and team members. Certification such as a Food Handlers Permit may be required depending on state regulations. The facility emphasizes compliance with federal child labor laws, requiring employees to be at least 18 years old, particularly because of the use of power-driven kitchen equipment. Overall, the Culinary Aide contributes meaningfully to the wellness and satisfaction of residents by ensuring every meal meets the facility's standards for quality, safety, and presentation.
